Spring is in the air!
Spring Activities to Do with Kids

The warmer days, beautiful flowers blooming, and the opportunities to get outside and enjoy the days make spring such a wonderful time of year. Everyone is excited to get outside!

Sometimes, however, the weather doesn't cooperate, so today am sharing both indoor and outdoor activities you can do with your children.
Here is a list of activities. On the warmer days you might want to get out and enjoy the weather, and on some more rainy or cooler days stay inside!

Spring Activities To Do With Your Kids (Indoors and Outdoors)

Picnics: You can have the picnic in your backyard, or take it to a park or the beach. Get the kids involved preparing the food and packing the car. Spread a blanket on the ground and enjoy the day!

Blowing Bubbles: You can either create your own bubbles or buy bubbles. Have a bubble blowing contest! (Who can blow the largest or longest-lasting bubble?) You could even have a bubble fight using bubble guns!

DIY Sidewalk Paint: Get out and have some fun with sidewalk paint. Mix 1 cup cornstarch to 1 cup of water and pour it into a muffin tin or little containers. Then add some food coloring to the mix to create different colors. Grab some paint brushes and let your kids paint away.

Change the color of flowers: Here is a fun one. Change the color of flowers using water and food coloring. It can be something for the kids to watch and enjoy seeing the change happen.
DIY Bird Feeders: Create little bird feeders. Grab either pine cones you find outside or even a toilet paper roll. Tie a little bit of string to one side. Slather some peanut butter onto the cone or roll and then dip it into bird seed. Then hang out on a tree limb and watch birds eat the seed. (Get more ideas here.)

Indoor Forts: Have your kids gather up blankets and create an indoor fort. Let them get creative about they want their fort and how to create it. Kids love forts!

Hunt for Animal Tracks: Get out and see if you can find animal tracks. It can be a fun way for kids to feel they are on a little hunt and they can try to figure out what kind of track it is. If you need help you can google images of animal tracks!

Garden together: Let your kids create a garden. Whether you have a little area they can plant right into the ground or use pots. Let them plant some seeds and see if they can grow them! This is a great way for them to learn to take care of their plants, by watering them and checking on them each day.
Art: If you can't get outside grab your art supplies and have an art day. If it's a sunny day (or if you're willing to get outside in spite of the weather), use it as an opportunity to combine nature and art.

Mud Pies: Let the kids get in the mud and get a little dirty. Don't have mud then create it! Let them use some dishes and let them have fun creating play meals for you to enjoy!

Bake Cookies: Make up some cookies and take and deliver some to neighbors or family. A great way to have some fun and let your child join in on making, and it teaches them to give!
I hope these give you some inspiration on activities you can do with your child instead of just lounging around. Depending on where you live you can truly find so many different things to get out and do!

What kind of activities do you do with your children?
