Wrapping Up Our School Year

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week...

I've spent a lot of time working/writing. Pretty boring, right?

In our homeschool this week...

We're at the end of Week 10 of Term III.
The girls took another online science class. You'll be hearing more about this in a couple of weeks. They really enjoyed it. I'm about to sign Lorelai up for a couple of other online things. We are about to begin our Animal Signs study using the unit study from NaturExplorers. We've studied a bit on this topic in the past, and are pretty good at identifying tracks while hiking. It should be fun to learn a bit more.

The girls spent a good amount of time being artsy-craftsy this week. Photo below.

Things I’m working on...
We're on week #10 of Term III (the final term of the year). Then we'll have our 4-week break in March. I've started looking around and thinking about what we'll be doing for our new school year which begins on April 1st. Pretty soon I'll post our curriculum for the 2013-14 homeschool year.

Also, we're planning our March break. Traditionally, we travel around Florida, camping, hiking, visiting state parks and such. The only thing I know for certain is that we're going to try to attend a homeschool convention in mid-March and spend a week at our Annual Family Campout in North Florida. Eh..I have a few weeks to map it all out.

I’m grateful for...
Income tax returns. It's the time of year that makes it easier for me to make changes to curriculum, purchase what we need and move on the new school year. Also, it's going to help me get a new vehicle since my has retired.

  1. We kind of had an unscheduled break this week, on account of Storm Nemo. I think shoveling every day counts as lots of PE... lol.

    Be blessed...

  3. @Dawn
Thanks! Alexis is quite the artist. I'm very excited about our break this year. If only I could skip the rest of February to get to that point. :-)
