What is notebooking?
Notebooking is the homeschool equivalent of journaling.Throughout history, people have created journals or common books. Journaling is a great way to document thoughts and experiences. In a journal, you can write, draw, paint, and store keepsakes such as flowers, news clippings, or theater tickets.
Like journaling, notebooking allows your child to document knowledge, and save items related to his education.
Notebooks eliminate busywork.
Every human wants to feel his work has value. Your child does, too. Instead of doing page after page of boring worksheets, give him something creative and hands on!With notebooking not only will your child be actively involved in his work, but he will also feel a sense of accomplishment, having created something which is uniquely his own!
A notebook is a reference tool.
Whenever your child needs to refer back to something, the information is right there in his notebooks. Whether he needs to recall a bit of information or refresh on some information, the information is at your child's fingertips!Notebooking works with any learning style or homeschool method.
Whatever your homeschool choice is - eclectic, Charlotte Mason, unschooling or any other method - notebooking is a tool you can use.
Notebooks meet the needs of all types of learners from visual to kinesthetic. Notebooking allows a child to way that best suits him while still activating those other areas of the brain necessary for creating and retaining memories.
I have found the joys of notebooking thanks to you! In my opinion it's one of the most powerful and most affordable tools out there. It's genius!
